Our Mission: Modest Wear for the Whole World

Every brand should be able to say, in plain words, what it is here to do. So here is ours, without decoration: Noor ul Noura exists to bring luxury modest wear to the whole world — not only to Muslim women, but to anyone who values covering, culture and craft. I am Momina, the founder and designer, and this is the belief the whole label is built on.
Modest wear belongs to everyone
Modesty is not owned by any one faith, culture or country. Women across the world — of every background — want to dress in a way that feels dignified, elegant and true to themselves. The desire to be beautifully covered is universal, even if it is expressed differently from one place to the next.
I designed Noor ul Noura to speak to that shared feeling. Our pieces are rooted in South Asian artistry and the heritage of the abaya, but they are made for any woman who is drawn to them. A modest wear brand, in my view, should open doors rather than draw lines.
Built on trust, culture and values
Three things sit underneath everything we do.
Trust. When you buy from us, you are trusting us with an occasion, a memory, sometimes a milestone. I take that seriously. It shapes how we make, how we price, and how we treat the people who wear our work.
Culture. Our heritage is not a decoration we add at the end — it is the starting point of every design. Mughal gardens, gold zari, the colours and craft of the subcontinent. I want a woman anywhere in the world to feel that history in what she wears.
Values. How something is made matters as much as how it looks. I design every piece myself, and design and making are brought together under one roof and overseen by me, through direct and ethical relationships with the people who produce our work. That closeness is what lets me stand behind every stitch — and choose the best quality materials available for each piece.
Quiet luxury, not throwaway fashion
I am not interested in making clothing to be worn once and forgotten. Ethical modest fashion, to me, means making fewer, better things — pieces considered enough to keep, in materials good enough to last. Many of our collections are released in limited, numbered runs for exactly this reason: intention over excess.
A luxury abaya should feel like an heirloom in the making, not a trend you move on from. That is the standard I hold every collection to.
Where we are going
We began with a single velvet piece. Today Noor ul Noura is a growing family of collections, each with its own world and its own light — and this is only the beginning.
My goal is for Noor ul Noura to be worn far beyond where it started: across Europe, America and Asia, in the wardrobes of women who may never have met but who share the same eye for quality and the same love of dressing beautifully and modestly. As we grow, I want the brand to broaden too — so that whatever a woman is looking for, she can find something at Noor ul Noura that feels made for her.
What I will never let change is the care. However far this reaches, every piece will still be designed with the same intention it carries today.
An invitation
If any of this speaks to you, I would love for you to be part of it. Whether you are discovering modest wear for the first time or have worn it all your life, there is a place for you here.
That is the whole idea behind the name — light passed from one to another, growing as it goes.
Light upon light.
